Q: What's your favorite band related event?

A: Any band event where we get to perform live music for an audience is my favorite. The social events are nice too (Banquet, Lock-In, Senior Trip, etc.) but sharing a stage with wonderful students who love to play music is by far the most rewarding.

Q: Who or what is your "favorite" section?

A: Now you're just trying to get me in trouble! The "Student Section" is obviously my favorite section.

Q: What's your favorite thing about being able to teach middle, high, and elementary school?

A: One of the most unique aspects of my job at Greenwood is that I get the opportunity to work with students for up to 9 years in a row. Many teachers only get one year with a student and then they're on to the next grade level. When you spend 9 years working with a student you get to see them begin, grow, evolve, and improve, which is pretty cool.

Q: What's the best thing that's happened throughout your years of teaching?

A: I would be cautious thinking about life as a series of events that just "happen" to us. I like to think that we make a conscious effort to plan, manage, navigate, and create life experiences for ourselves. Things don't just happen. We MAKE things happen.

Q: What's the funniest thing that's happened throughout your years of teaching?

A: The seniors wrapping my car in Saran Wrap last year was pretty good, definitely something I'll remember. There have been a lot of great student quotes over the years, some that I probably should not mention here, but funny... VERY funny. The funniest thing though was probably Brodie Woodard's prank back when he was in 6th or 7th grade where he left a trail of little, tiny plastic, ducks for me to follow from my car in the parking lot, up the side-walk, into the auditorium lobby, down the hall to the music room and then in the music room there was a gigantic inflatable duck, easily 7 feet tall and took up almost the entire room.

Q: What event are you looking forward to?

A: Pretty much the same answer here as question #1. I look forward to any event where we get to perform live music for an audience.
