Greenwood Winter Sports Senior Night

One thing that senior athletes look forward to every year is senior night. It gives the athletes the opportunity to be recognized for all the hard work they put into their sport through the years. The boy's basketball team had their senior night on Thursday, February 11th against Newport. That night they recognized the Greenwood senior cheerleaders Amanda Sheaffer, Mikeala Emanuel, and Alyssa Nieves. The basketball team celebrated Bryce Wagner and Logan Seiber. The final score of the boy's game was 49-40 Greenwood. Friday, February 12th was the girl's senior night game versus Newport as well. The girl's team celebrated Anna Amosso, Katelyn Harp, Nyssa Yoder, and Sarah Pennay. The final score for the girl's game was 39-21 Greenwood.

As a small gift to the seniors, I have asked the coaches from all three teams to give a message to the seniors.

The message for the girl's basketball seniors:

“Seniors,

I am so proud of you. Thank you for all your hard work over your basketball careers here at Greenwood. The success of our program is attributed to all you have done for it. I can’t wait to see what the next steps of your journey hold!”

-Coach Deitz

The message for the boy's basketball seniors:

“Congratulations on all that you have accomplished over the years that we have had the privilege to coach you. Thank you for your commitment to Greenwood Basketball and the Greenwood Community. You will always be a part of our program.”

-Coach Gantt

The message for the cheer team seniors:

Senior cheerleaders: You have been a dedicated trio and great leaders to our team this year. Your leadership helped guide our otherwise young squad throughout the season. You were great role models for the freshmen and have definitely helped mold them for their future years. You have bright futures ahead of you, no matter what you decide to do!”

-Coach Nastasi

Congratulations to all the seniors from all three teams!
