How to stay in the moment as a senior

Congrats to all the people reading this and are seniors! You made it through 12 years of schooling and finally get to be awarded for all that hard work. In the last moments of everything it can be easy to wish you could go back and start it all over again, but you shouldn’t want this. The thing is, wishing for the past means that you are ignoring what is happening right now. All those little moments that happen at the end of your last year in high school could be missed because of you longing for the past. But fear not! Learning to live in the moment and what being a senior really means is not actually that hard. Instead of dreading the day you get to walk across the stage, get handed your diploma, and say you are a Greenwood Alumni, look at the faces around you and class and think about all that you guys have shared together. Everything from exhausted mornings, to rushed papers, to math homework that did not make sense has been shared. Not only does the past keep you from being in the here and now, it keeps you from looking towards the future. And HELLO SENIORS, you have a LOT to be looking forward to! If it is entering the workforce, joining the services, or going to college, your future is bright. That is something that every person should know, that their future is bright and filled with possibility! So seniors, as one last reminder STOP LIVING IN THE PAST! Be excited for these last few moments with each other and know that you have so much to bring for the future.

These words from a senior are to the classes at Greenwood- “Live in the moment and appreciate these years while you can; this is a chapter of your life that you’ll never get to experience again.”
