So, as it comes to the end of the month, think back and reflect on yourself for a moment. Think about a goal you wanted to achieve, your New Year's resolution maybe? Did you actually achieve this goal, or did it fail, again. Well if you are still interested in taking this goal on, it’s not to late. All you have to do is pretend that this past month never happened and start again in February, but this time take into consideration these simple, yet helpful tips to help you tackle your goal head on!
Now, to get started let's just keep it simple, start by making it clear to everyone what it is you are going or what you want to do. By doing this people may expect a sudden change in the way you are acting or help hold you accountable for whatever it is you are doing. Not only this, but if what you are doing isn’t normal for you, then your friends and family won’t be thrown into shock whenever you start trying to tackle your goal. Also just by stating it out to the public and making it clear, not only are you allowing other people to acknowledge what it is your doing, but you yourself will know that the people you told are expecting you to do it, therefor you won’t want let them or yourself down.
Another simple thing you can do is remember that it’s hard to form a habit , but harder to break it, so don’t give up. This being said, don’t think that because you messed up one time it’s the end of the world and your never going to be able to do it. So, if your goal is to draw something every night for about 15 minutes, and then all of the sudden you miss a night. Don’t give up! All this is showing is that you, like everybody else are human, and all you have to do is try again. Just make sure to keep repeating it until it just naturally becomes part of your day to day routine.
Something very important you should always keep in mind when making a goal is this, is my goal realistic, do I have a plan? Because let's face it, if you want to be able to run a marathon next month, and that's all you have in your mind, no plan or anything, chances are it won’t happen. But, if you goal is to exercise every night for thirty minutes, at six, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the park, you’ll probably achieve it. A well thought out plan - along with a realistic goal - will help lead you in the right path along with giving yourself the knowledge of all the details that will help lead you in the right direction when you are trying to reach your goal.
