Taking Care of you this V-Day

So Cupid’s holiday is right around the corner and it can be sad, stressful, fun, hard, exciting, and any other adjective you want to describe it with. But as important as it is to recognize how much you love someone, it’s equally important to love yourself. So without further ado here are some simple ways to love yourself this Valentine’s Day.

Hang out with your friends- Instead of moping around, find a way to use the holiday to hang out with the gang. A fun way to do this is to grab your friends hit up your local Giant or Dollar General and go crazy on all that ON SALE candy. Next grab a movie, relax, gorge on that chocolate, ice cream, and goodies, and enjoy the night with your friends.

Do not dwell on what your don’t have- Today people often feel pressured to be in a relationship, but don’t let this get to you. Instead of asking yourself “Why cannot I not get a girlfriend/ boyfriend?” Ask yourself “What can I do to make myself and this world better?” This could be as simple as smiling to everyone you see or going out and spreading the love by volunteering in whatever you are passionate about. Doing this can help you appreciate all the good you DO have in your life, not what you don’t have.

Do something new- Trying or doing something new is good for the body and the brain. Whatever you try doesn’t have to be this impossible task like recreating a cake from Cake Boss, but

something simpler like making a fun mug cake. Anything from pottery, cooking, exercising, singing, and so much more is out there just waiting for you to try. Who knows, maybe you will fall madly in love with your new hobby.

Relax and simply love yourself- Today you are you, you are incredible, and that in itself is why you should be proud of yourself. Take a hot bath, put on some music, or read a good book, just relax. It is amazing how you will feel after you have put stress out of your mind and let yourself just breath.

This Valentine’s Day, don’t worry about what others think of you, just realize how amazing you are as a person! If you take care of yourself it is amazing how much better you will feel, and all the good you can do in the world!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
