Teacher Spotlight: An Interview With Mr. McGowan!

At the beginning of the school year, Greenwood welcomed Mr. McGowan! He is the wood/metal tech teacher in the shop. Read on to learn more about him!

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

“We live on a small farm outside of Millerstown that keeps me busy.”

Where did you work prior to Greenwood?

“I retired from West Perry after 34 years as a shop teacher. I also retired from the Army Reserve after 40 years.”

What is your favorite TV show?

“It depends; I like comedies to unwind, but I like a lot of the programs on the History and Discovery channel.”

What is your favorite part of the job?

“Teaching students how to fix/make things, and watching projects be made.”

What is one thing you want the students at Greenwood to know?

“Everyone should have a basic understanding of how tools and technology affect our lives and how to work with some of them.”
