Your Introduction to Bright Sun Films

“Wwwwwhats up guys, my name Jake!” This sound marks the beginning of a brand new video on Brights Sun Film. Jake Williams started Bright Sun Films on YouTube and makes shows like Abandoned, Cancelled, Bankrupt and Explore helping people learn and investigate business, companies, and exotic locations. This channel covers topics from Disney’s Abandoned water park, to the decline of a powerhouse airline such as Pan Am. I was lucky enough to have an interview with Jake Williams about his plans with the channel and what all goes into making these videos.

Before Jake got into the world wide web as a career he was actually “...planning on going to school for business marketing and for a long time I figured my career in life was going to be through business and in administration…” However, along the line he discovered that filming and producing videos was the better direction to go. Videos from other YouTubers about abandoned locations “provided a catalyst for me to try and start my own thing.” As far as coming up for ideas on videos, Jake focuses on topics that are “ interesting enough for me and there is enough content behind it I will definitely pursue it and try to create a video behind it.” In fact, “90 to 92 percent” of the ideas actually become Bright Sun Films videos! This channel has numerous series covering cancelled, bankrupt, and abandoned companies, ideas, or locations. Jake told me that it is time to make a new series whenever there are “certain topics that I really want to explain to people but don't really have the platform to do so…” The research process for a video begins with Jake collecting, “as many information sources as I possibly can whether its a newspaper or online article...” After all the facts are collected, it is transformed into a script to be recorded for release. This whole process can take “82 to 92 hours.” As many of you know, I have a certain love for Disney World and the company in general.

Therefore, it makes sense that when Jake told me one of his favorites types of videos to create are Disney Abandoned because he has a “fascination for Abandoned Disney stuff and Disney parks in general,” I was little ecstatic. Bright Sun Films

has continued to gain a large following and in response to the question about future goals, Jake said “As long as I continue to evolve and grow, I think that the audience will and some people might leave but I think the evolution of my content will always draw in more people.” Speaking of audiences, I asked if Jake would ever be doing a tour like many other creators do. His response was “I don’t think that could be a Jake Williams thing to do.” One of the reasons so many people are drawn to this channel is because of the passion that is in every video being created. Unlike many channels on YouTube today, there is not focus on monetary gains in Bright Sun Films. Giving advice to anyone looking to do this, Jake believes that “Genuinely caring about the content” is extremely important. The number one thing I learned from this interview is that not matter what you do in life, make sure you love it!
